Family Gathering

FAMILY GATHERING


Someone has let their hair grow,
Someone has cut their hair short...
And one of the children,
Is doing something with their hair,
That no one quite understands...

Someone has put on a little weight,
Someone else has lost it...
And all of the children,
Have grown so much taller....
That everyone exclaims over it...



Someone arrives empty-handed,
Someone brings a wagonload...
And all of the children,
Breathlessly await the magic,
Of opening their gifts...

Someone thinks everything is different,
Someone thinks it all unchanged...
And one small child,
Simply says it all,
"Thank you for our family.....'
